Long Island Board of REALTORS®’ Evan Smith Named Honoree of Blank Slate Media’s 2022 40 Under 40 Award

Evan Smith, Global Business Liaison and Online Learning Coordinator of Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR), has been named an honoree of the 2022 40 Under 40 Awards by Blank Slate Media.

Blank Slate Media’s 40 Under 40 Awards recognize and honor individuals who are creating their own paths and finding innovative ways to be successful. They have distinguished themselves in their respective fields, from business and finance to not-for-profit, healthcare, entertainment, education, and law.

Evan Smith currently serves as the Global Business Liaison and Online Learning Coordinator for LIBOR, a leading regional REALTOR® trade association that serves over 30,000 real estate professionals throughout Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties.

In that role, Smith brings his trademark positivity and years of experience and expertise to multiple areas, including education, administration, global business development, and management of LIBOR’s Global Business Council.

Since joining LIBOR in 2017, Smith has elevated the Association’s global relations by collaborating with other associations, international partners, and outside entities to build awareness among members of the global real estate opportunities within their market and throughout the world.

Smith has been instrumental in creating and maintaining lasting communication lines with international associations through the signing of Memorandums of Understandings (MOU).  LIBOR currently has agreements with 18 countries, including Argentina, Bahamas, Cambodia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Ghana, India, Jamaica, Mongolia, Nigeria, Panama, Philippines, Romania, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, and Ukraine. The MOU establishes cooperation for associations to share relevant market information, foster global relationships, and cultural exchanges, and build bridges with international partners abroad.

In 2021, to adapt to members’ changing needs, Smith helped launch “Travel Abroad Virtually with LIBOR” an international monthly web series that hosts representatives from global associations to communicate valuable resources and inspiration to LIBOR members.

Through Smith’s leadership, LIBOR’s Global Business Council was awarded the 2021 Platinum Global Achievement Program Award from NAR for exhibiting the highest level of service to its members by consistently providing them with the tools they need to excel in international real estate. This places LIBOR’s Global Business Council in the top 8% of Global Councils nationwide.

In dedication to his role at LIBOR, Smith has earned the Certified Distance Education Instructor (CDEI) certification through the Association of Real Estate License Law Official (ARELLO), the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS), At Home with Diversity (AHWD), and Commitment to Excellence (C2EX) certifications through NAR. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management with a concentration in Music Business from Five Towns College.

Prior to joining the Association, Smith worked extensively in the music industry. His years of sales and management experience at various NYC record labels and music establishments have set the stage for his deep appreciation of richly unique cultures throughout the world.

"LIBOR is so pleased that Evan Smith’s contributions and outstanding leadership are being recognized by Blank Slate Media’s 40 Under 40 Awards program," said LIBOR CEO Tessa Hultz. "Evan has been instrumental in elevating LIBOR’s global presence, and we are proud to celebrate his accomplishments!”
