Take Action on Co-Op Housing Legislation in Nassau County

Dec 13, 2019

On Monday, Dec 16th, at 1pm the Nassau County Legislature will be voting on Bill 489-19 which will require cooperative (co-op) housing boards to acknowledge receipt of applications within 15 days and within 45 days shall either reject or approve the application.  The bill also states that if a co-op board does not respond, fines shall be imposed (up to $2,000).  The full text of the bill can be found here.  We need our members there to show support!  Please JOIN US on Monday.  RSVP your attendance to [email protected] and we will respond with further instructions.

If you are a Nassau County resident, you should have received a Call For Action on Thursday, Dec 12th regarding this important piece of legislation and asking you to reach out to your County Legislator for their support.  Responding to this Call For Action will take less than 20 seconds!  Click here to TAKE ACTION NOW

LIBOR supports this legislation that will hopefully ease some of the burdens prospective buyers face. It is important to reach out to our legislators to thank those who have sponsored this legislation, and encourage the others to pass this bill, and show them that LIBOR’s commitment to more transparency in the purchasing process remains strong.
